Well I got an email from Tommy the other day and my new bird is about ready. The fuse is painted and I am guessing that by no the wings are done. I just sent him the N# today being I was finaly able to get on to Maxwell Airforce Base to get my pics. I shot 200 or so pics and about 10mins of vid on the plane. This bird is very clean so it should make for an interesting and bright paint job. I have ordered a mini me from Kathrine to go in the plane and as with the last one he will be fully automated as well. I am going to and a full radio in this one to pick up local atc in the area. I also got my cams in as well so you can watch live video of the plane in flight from inide the cockpit. Cant wait....

I had toyed with using the Civil Air Patrol color scheme before deciding on the gold 2009.
I like the look of the182 with the wheel pants and the CAP planes almost always take them off so I decided not to go that route.
Still a cool looking plane though. Good luck on it.
PS.Attached is a picof the only one I saw with wheel pants on but it's an older one.
Post as many as you want, great for reference!

If anyone is interested, I have reluctantly decided to put my 50% Hempel EDGE 540 Version II up for sale in order to finish up the TMMY Cessna.
I really want to keep both planes but business has been slow for me the last few years.
If I hit the Lotto I'll keep them both. lol

I am looking into getting one of those Biela 3 blade props that are painted like the stock McCauley Cessna props.
I was doing some math and it looks like the prop should be 28” diameter to be scale on this plane.

I see Austars has them for sale 28 x 12 with the correct paint scheme.
I recon they got the same numbers I came up with (28") but wondering if the 12” pitch would be OK.
Again, I guess they have tried different pitches and figure 12 to be best with 28” diameter on the 150cc class engines.
I guess it would help if I had some specs on the 170cc four stroke (specifically recommended pros) but they’re not out yet.
I know four strokes can usually swing more pitch so I imagine 12 would be ok.I sometimes see even higher than 12 pitch with four stroke engines, especially MOKI radials but I don’t want to have too much airspeed at idle for landings.
Has anyone used a 28 x 12?I see a lot of posts about using 29 x 10.
Any Input / experience?

Spidernad I used 29x10 bila in maiden flight and I used until the fly 20 , the prop look beautiful but get my engine over heat them I switch to 32x10 biela prop and make me happy fly for the rest of the season , now the 3 blade prop is hanging in my leaving room for display

I am still running the Biela 29x10 since new and no problems here, although this may be due to the slightly different climate we have here in the southern hemisphere.
I also did some calculations when I was looking at prop size and based on the full scale Cessna 182 they run a 79 inch three bladed McCauley propeller. I scaled this down and from memory the 29 inch was almost spot on, within a decimal place from memory.
I have heard of other guys running with the 28x12 prop and having more performance from the engine, however this depends on how you would like your Cessna to fly. Do you want it to be a rocket or do you want it to fly scale. I have never had any intention of rolling or looping my Cessna unlike Mario here who I have seen do this on one of his youtube videos.
The 29x10 provides more than adequate power for scale flying. I actually like the way the aircraft glides in on approach with the motor at idle power and it seems to work well for me.
I am disappointed though that my propeller does not have the McCauley logo printed on it as it was the first to be made by biela with the white and red tips. I requested this at the time and they added this to their custom options from then on, as they have done so here in adding the logo.

I was comparing the picturesof the full size plane and the one atTommysand the red stripe on the vert fin should start sooner, but I'm splitting hairs here. It looks fine anyway.

I am aware. I already asked Tommy if it could be redone. We did not have all the info when he started it. Still have not heard back about that bit yet. If he tells me no I will try to ethier fix it here of just leave it. Good eye althought. I saw it as soon as I looked at the full scale when I went to go take my pics.

Also if you have any measurements of their size so I can scale them down.

You want me to share info??????? I dont do that. I have to have mine look better than any one elses......... I will see what I can send you over. They are swept back. it should be on the vid as well.
I watched the whole video but there was never a shot from the bottom or top to tell the shape.
No worries, I can probably figure it out if you dont have it.

I was gonna suggest that but I haveto see how they come out. If the quality isgood I will do it. I'm starting a set now but am guesstimating the size and shape.

I've been working from dark to dark with my business lately, that's the main holdup.
If only I could build planes for a living instead!
Here's what I have so far..
Shark, I can't see the sweep from any of those pics, I'm just kind of guessing at it so far. Look at the pics below.

So it looks like 11.5" wide x 6.5" long x about 1/4" thickfrom your pics on the full scale ones.
So I'm not to far off but I will probably start over, scalingoff those dimensions.
Still don't know what degree sweep and if both front and back sweep or just front. See pics below.
Damn, I gotta go to sleep now, Gotta get up at 5am again! I NEED TOHIT THE LOTTO!!!
