Shark,

So it looks like 11.5'' wide x 6.5'' long x about 1/4'' thick from your pics on the full scale ones.

So I'm not to far off but I will probably start over, scaling off those dimensions.

Still don't know what degree sweep and if both front and back sweep or just front. See pics below.

Damn, I gotta go to sleep now, Gotta get up at 5am again! I NEED TO HIT THE LOTTO!!!

You are correct on the measurements and yes you first drawing is correct. The bases look to be pretty much correct as well. You do need a little more of a sweep back but not much all from were you are at, i n fact you can send me your first set hyou have done I can work with them......lol. Did you watch the vid. I think there is a pretty clear shot at the tail of them from the back. Oh the last shot is from the next project or two down the line. It is going to be a monster at 139" long.

I watched the video and paused it several times. Nothing from straight down or straight up to see the sweep. But I think we have enough to work with.

I'll see if I can find some time to work on them this weekend.

Hey spider if you look at the 4th pic I posted of the pics for the stablizer the sweep back is on there. I just noticed it. The pic was taken from above with the ruler at the end of it right at the edge. You should be able to ge the deg of sweep from the back which will be the same as the front.

Thanks to you Saul for starting this excellent thread!

I might not have known about the TMMY Cessna otherwise.

Well, I've got the first set of vertical stabilizer add-on fins finished.

I scrapped the first set and ordered a thinner material to make it more true to scale, so that took a while to get.

I'm really happy with the quality and I'm working on making some more to offer to other TMMY 35% Cessna owners, should anyone be interested.

They are hand made and take quite a while to make, so I'm a little concerned that if I price them to cover my time and make it worth my while they might be too pricey.

I was thinking $75.00 would be enough to cover my time, but if that sounds too high just let me know and I'll scrap the idea and be happy with the one I have.

Your welcome. When I started the thread I did it because I'm such a huge Cessna nut and thought it was such an awesome kit. I'm happy to see that there are others who share my joy.

I was going to buy one and had even e-mailed Tommy about him building one for me but then I lost my job so I had to cancel the order. I'm working again and really want one. I would make mine electric though.

Hi Fellows;

Just jumping over from the 185 thread, agreed, Saul, great effort to get the C-182 thread going......

Initially I was looking at the 35% C-182 (with a float conversion), but had a 120†version of the 182 from Austars.

Then came the discussions with Tommy re the C-185, the 185 thread was as a result of this thread.

I really hope you have the opportunity to receive an electric 35% 182 from Tommy in the near future.

Regards
Randy

Thanks Adrian (from Switzerland), for your purchase of the Stabilizer Add-On fins.

Let me know if you have any questions when installing them.

Adrian,

The fins have been sanded with 320 grit wet or dry paper and can be painted if you choose.
They also can be sanded with super fine paper (1000-2000 grit)and polished smooth with no paint, or just installed as is.

You can use white silicone as a gasket or filler to fill in the gaps left by the curve of the Vertical Stabilizer.
If you want the fins to be easily removable, just tape some plastic food wrap to the Stab before applying the silicone to the fin base, screw them on,
then wait a day for it to dry and remove the fins and the plastic wrap and reinstall.

The registration number decal I ordered, N6214N , is the number ofa full scale 2009 Cessna 182 Skylane TC of the same color that I modeled this plane after.

You can see it in the last picture.

I also did some calculations when I was looking at prop size and based on the full scale Cessna 182 they run a 79 inch three bladed McCauley propeller. I scaled this down and from memory the 29 inch was almost spot on, within a decimal place from memory.

Steve
79"(full scaleCessna prop)x 35.417% (TMMYCessna) = 27.97943" Rounds up to 28".

Just orderedtwo 28x12 Biela 3 blade (as attached photo).

Now if I can just get an engine! lol

Come on Rotomotor !

Hi Guys. Please can you give me some guidance.
I am in the process of re setting up my 3m Cessna to fly again before i fly my 4m Cessna.
My flaps were set up initialy under a flight phase. I deleted the info for the 3m Cessna in my
transmitter and replaced it with the 4m Cessna.
I have both flaps set up but would like to now set up the travel on the flaps to give me
15% & 30%
which is the best way to set up the flaps?
I have a Graupner mx22 transmitter if that helps.
Should i be using the free mixers ?
Regards.
Martin.

If you set up a mix on a 3 position sw. Pos. 1on the switch can be all the way to one direction on the channel (flaps up) Pos. 2 on the switch (middle) can be half way on the channel (or zero)and half down flaps (15 degrees) andPos. 3on the switch can be full opposite direction on the channel and full down flaps (30degrees).

On my futaba I used master and slave same channel in the mix, I actually set it up with two switches and had 10,20, and 30 degrees flaps plus of course up. (no flaps) It took a long time for me to figure out the best way to get it to work with both flaps being on separate channels so I could adjust the end points individually.
