RE: TMMY Scale Composites 35% scale Cessna
I find I did not have any flat spots in my tires when I was using Glennis Wheels on my last bird. I am going to try the skylites being they came with this bird. The old tires Tommy was using were crap as they were foam and would flat out on you.
I as I stated earlier have added gussets in the aft joint of the fuse to try and help spread the load out. Plane should be done this week after the rest of my lights show from Details 4 Scale. Dan does a great job with the lights and my two little guys show as well. If my new seats from Tommy arrive as well I will really be in business.

Hey Guys - thank you for all your response to all my ?'s.... they were all very usefull- as far as my fuse I DID reinforce the join platform - We sanded down the the dry "RICEGLUE" and re-glued with AERO-POXY with added fiberglass and wood block supports- If you zoom in on the photo -you will see the support up-grade to the rear joint plate- the back cover goes over it and hides everything- we also added a extra center bolt on the top- Itoo had a issue where on the 2nd flight the rear tail broke off the and totaled the whole plane- it was a bad day.........needless to say we did our best to prevent it from happening again- This is my 2nd cessna from Tommy- I justhave tohave this plane in my fleet- it has too much WOW factor

Hi Fellows;
The gussets you have added look pretty good and as you say a necessity. A fair bit of weight hanging out there with the trike gear or tail dragger.
Looks like Tommy has changed his wheel selection a few times. The orginal with the 185 had a small industrial wheel and tire with a inner tube.
No flat spots but very heavy. Thus the change over to Sullivan.
Have fun with your 182’s this year, they look great.
Regards
Randy

Forgot to mention, George, really like the added touches with the instrument panel, operational controls, pilots and your civil air patrol paint scheme.

I am hoping that this plane will be a real head turner not only in the air but on the ground as well. I am hoping that I can dress up this on as well as the last one. Got to go back to work on the plane. I am adding functional scale gas caps for filling the fuel tanks through the wing. I figured the plane is big enough so it souls work just fine.

So here is the lastest mod to the transport cradel. Ihad to raise the back of the cradel to compensate for the contour of the fuse- its now very secure for high mileage transporting- next is to make one for the tail. I'll post photos as soon as possible. You will see a double chin brace - most of the weight is on that support- Im not sure how I could have done it different but this seems fine......

Hi Fellows;
Style Fly, nice looking and functional transportation cradle. No worries now re flat spots on the tires or securing the model to avoid rolling around in the back of your vehicle or trailer.
George, keep us posted on the added details to your 182, agreed, it certainly adds to the appearance and added conversation with the spectators.
Also agreed, the size of model makes easier access and fabrication of those special parts. I’m just finishing the aluminum step on the fuse for the pilot access to the wing tanks etc.
If you do pursue with the 185 at some point let me know and I can pass on my experiences with this model.
Regards

Oh No!
I've discoverd RC scale rock crawler trucks!
Had to find some something to do while I'm waiting for an engine for my Cessna.
Here are a couple of pics of my first build attempt.
I know, it's not a plane.

I could not stand the shiny top of the Cessna dash board - I went to JoAnn's Fabric and picked up some mat vinyl leather - I made this templet- cut one out - now it looks much better....

Well I am almost finised with the CAP bird. She will have pleanty of flights on her before Joe Nall. I have all my nav lights run an working thanks to Dan Gill at Details 4 Scale. He does great work as always. The new lights and strobes are so bright you have no trouble seeing them in the day light. They are much better then the set I had on the last bird. I got all my other wires and leads run and closed the plane up this evening. Now it is on to the detail work.
I figured on this plane I wanted to hide the swithches better so I made a panel an installed them under the seat at an angel. Much easier to get to then what I had before. I did some detail work on my landing lights by adding a smooth lens to the landing light an a waffel lens to the taxi light. As per the full scale. My pilots showed up form Patti and holy s#!t do they look great The flight suits she and Katherine did are top notch. I did the mod on the mini me so now his head turns with the rudder and the arms will move with Dan's wonderful rigg he made for my panel. The civil air partol patches I had custom made arrived today. So now I get the task of copying them all and shrinking them down on heavy card stock to add them to the flight suits. But it is all in the details as it is with any plane. I will have more pics tomorrow.

The dash came from Vogelsang-aeroscale here in the USA. He orders them from a guy who custom makes them over in Germany.

Tshark,
That pic of you and the "mini-me" pilot figure is awesome!! I'm sure that will be the hit of the field once somebody susses out that the figure is YOU I've spent 100's of hours in a 172 Cessna and your I panel and interior look great!
