Flown mine 4 times now. Flys great, looks GOOD just off the tops of the soybeans planted beside the runway. Still needs a little adjustment on CG and other minor trimming changes. Now it needs a pilot. Anybody found a suitable one?

"Now it needs a pilot."

I've got a little time with Ag planes but I have to work evening shift tomorrow. I'll try to make it out at dinner time ~4:30-5:30.....or did you mean one for the cockpit?

You guys are too far away, or I would have offered to pilot your plane also. But, ThrushDust is a lot closer.
Where's your CG at and where are you going to move it?

I haven't actually measured it. Mine's powered by a G-38(a bit heavy) so I put a 2400Ma. Bat. at the rear of the cockpit area. 188 was a bit twitchey on the elev. Moving it forward about 8in.(just about on the CG) ought to do it.

I thought maybe you had measured it on the wing.

I'm one of the hardheads that don't always follow the manuals. I balance to suit my flying, usually starting at the main spar. How does it work as a tow plane? I've done towing but I always used a J-3, or a PA-18 with the tow attachment just behind the CG on top of the cabin. BJ

I'm seriously thinking about getting one of these - does anyone know 'out of the box' weight and what maximum diameter propeller it'll take? Thanks!

I'm running a g45 and the 20 inch prop has lots of clearance.

Mine were stiff also. I just spray lubed them and that seemed to make them easier to operate but the springs are still stiff. Be sure and not cut the length down on them, even if they look too long. That length keeps them from falling into the window frame.

WOW..... This thread dropped off. I just picked up this plane and am getting things together. I've got a Fuji 32B going into it so I'm gonna need to get things moved to the rear. Going with one servo on the elevators. I also saw a pic of this plane with a servo mounted in the other elevator slot going to the rudder. If I recall it was Musicfan's Plane. I think I'll do the same. If anybody's got a close up pic I wouldn't mind seeing it but I don't think it'll be too difficult.

I like 'slopers equipment shelf behind the side door so I think I'll do the same.

I'll try to get some pics

Later,
Mike

I have just finished my Ag Wagon. Did a few changes. I have a FPE 40cc, with fiber optic cut off switch. Smoke pump, B&B landing gear reinforcement. I cut open a secon hatch, as I needed all the weight up front as far as possible. I have two power packs aghead of the front hatch and my main power pack for servos and receiver is a 2900 Lithium Manganeese. By having the second hatch easier to get at the radio install, and also easier to get at the wing bolts. I have pull pull for rudder, the servo is exactly where it is shown in the instruction manual. I have carbon fiber cables for the pull pull. I have carbon fiber rods for the elevator servos and used the tips that came with the kit. I will be doing engine test soon, to see if all is ok and smoke test. then maybe take her out on the ice for it's first flight. I don't like to fly my good planes in the winter, but for the first flight winter is a good time. more lift and wide open spaces on the lake.
I put the cg according to the instructions, but would like some come back on were the cg is on the ones that have flown.
the tank you see in the cabin is the smoke tank. the gas tank is as far up front as I could get it, if you look at the last pic you can see it down in the hole.next to the Duralite Lithium.

This is how I set up my engine to make sure I had the right incidence. I used a ladder and as you can see made sure the fuse was very straight. Was able to movethe engine to the proper location, drill my holes. I also cut out part of the box for space for the Bisson pitts style muffler. Then finished it in Carbon fiber for the heat that will be generated close to that area. All worked out very well.
