I will check mine also but Tuesday, I have the twin BME in it turning 22X10 Xoar @ 7300, the HS 5645 are an excellent choice, I got JR digitals all around, 95 oz each Elev, Ail, 333 oz on the Rudd ( just because I had it ) and standar on the Throttle, 2 1600 mah LIFE for the on board and a 2000 mah Eneloop NIMH for the ing, enough to fly all day.

I am using Hitech 5625MG servos..According to instructions the back of the prop hub on the motor should be 10 inches from the front fuselage former,or approx 9 inches from the front of the rounded off ring on the front of the fuselage.Suggest you slide in the motor box with motor attached and then place the cowl, put on a prop and see how it goes.when satisfied epoxy in the motor box..good luck..Bob

Congrats Richard.
I think mine came with a spinner, True turn has one specifically made for the Gee Bee Y 27%.
I will try to post pictures of my Gee Bee, I will be in a new place soon and will have the room to keep and work on my toyz, from there I will be able to post more often, If you need help to any question regarding the install I will be more than happy to help.

A few questions...
You just glue the motor box in where you want it? I think that I will see if I could somehow pin it as well....
The intent is that the landing gear stay mounted to the wing halves and the wing halves do stay separate? These aren't going to fit in any wing bag like that. How do you guys transport?
Any input as a good starting point for all the throws?
The TruTurn hub is on its way. We have the DLE 60 twin with a laminated 22x10 for the power plant. HS-5645 servos for all except throttle. Trying to decide on the battery set up to use. Leaning toward a pair of A123 and possibly a powerbox like what Redwing RC has.
Bob and Carlos, you guys have been a great help and I really appreciate any and all info!!!!!

Ailerons low rate1 1/2 inches up and high 2 inches up....low rate down 7/8 inches..high rate down11/4 inches..this means you must program in differential !!!...elevators low 3/4 inches..high1 inch each way...rudder low rate 11/2 inches and high 2 inches each way.I carefully pack the wings when traveling,no bags! Good luck !!

Dito on the low and high control throws, go with 2 1/2" or 3" on the rudder, it will help turn it tight when taxing, I recently change my two batts from 5 cells 2000 mh NI-MH to 2 cells 1800 LI-FE ones, plenty of juice for the entire day, best of all, they stay charged for ever if I don't use them also recently I changed the foam tires for air Dubro 5 1/2 tires, way better, now if I fly off a paved runway the Gee Bee taxis very slow at the lowest idle I can get from the 61 twin BME 22X10 Xoar prop, the only change I had to do was to make the wheel pants openings wider for the much fatter tires, the benefits, slower to none taxi speed, less bouncing during landings, love it, side effects, had to re CG it because the added weight of the tires, no biggie.

As for as transportation goes, my Gee Bee is a V1 and has a one piece wing ( very strong ) I have an Astro van to transport my toys at the moment, the wing is placed on a rack very near the roof of the van, inside ( I can transport three wings this way ) my GP Citabria wing is a two piece wing but having the room to transport it in a one piece makes it much more convenient and yes, the wings and fuses go in very carefully ( both bench seats have been removed permanently to transport my toys)

Hi guys,
i have bought a few months ago a second hand geebee Y 97" , with folowing setup:
engine: Zenoah G62 eletronic ignition
engine servo: futaba 3010
ailerons servo's: futaba 3305
elevator sero's: futaba 3305
rudder servo' : changed to a hitec HS7955TG
powerbox evolution with 2x 2cells 1800mah
i have also changed to tire's to du-bro inflatable tires 5.5TV http://shop.dubro.com/p/5-1-2-dia-la...-treaded-wheel
my C. G is perfect and is at 5.31 inches
it's a realy , realy great flyer! not a rocket with the G62, but i love it!
Now i have a wooden 22x10, so i wonder if anyone elss fly's with a better prop (23x8? carbon?biela?....)
still to do : install a smoke pump
i will soon by some pivothead sunglasses to record it ....

As you try different props, try a 20x10. G-62's like to spin up, in fact, the instructions state that you can prop it to run as high as 10K on the ground. The 20x10 will give nearly 8k on the ground and really unload in the air.
I flew mine with the same set up you have for several years. Never should have sold it.

The G-62 has been in the big Gee Bee and the Top Flight giant scale P-40 with a 20x10 prop. In fact, there is an AT-6 racing class with stock G-62's, 20x15 APC special props running over 140 mph. The cowls are as big. Keep in mind that the outer 25% of the prop does most of the work.

I'm Back!! Hope you guys are still here!! I got the DLE 60 mounted to the engine box and I understand the slide and affix. Problem is not sure where the cowl is going to sit. No holes drilled in the cowl and not sure how much to overlap the cowl to the fuse. Also, this Green Models version is a big cavernous fuse with no mounting anywhere. Different from the "picture" instructions. It would appear that the rudder has been changed from a pull pull to a mounted in the exterior tail 1 arm linkage. Any chance for getting some radio and throttle servo mounting pics? A dimension from the aft edge of the cowl to the mounting hole? I know it's been a while but sometimes life gets in the way. I hope to get her in the air before the close of the season. Thanks in advance!!
