One more Tripacer.
3 meter span

Fat Dorit, (Fede Dorit) Startet its life as a Tripacer but was converted to a Piper PA22/20 bush plane,
with 100 ccm boxer gas engine, towing my 6 meter DG800s.
The model is bought by 8 members in my club, and will be used for towing.

Hi, rltripacer. Some hints from an old PA-16 full scale guy, ultralight pilot and Multi engine Instrument Flight Instructor. R/C guy for 30 years plus and former UAV pilot. May be you know more about all this than I do, but I have a couple of suggestions if you do not. The only failure I ever had on an ultralight was with a Cuyuna. It was single ignition and I suggest if you are risking your life in an U L aircraft get something like a Rotax with dual ignition. One of the Walmart sons was killed in an ultra lite in Jackson Hole Wyoming. Not sure of the details, but could have been this or a lack of experience in full scale piloting or a structural failure. If you do not have and pilot training in full scale, get some. A friend of mine flew his home built several hours with success and then.... Sad... wife and kids. Same thing with a guy in Fairbanks, Ak. Used hardware store nuts and bolts. something failed on the first flight. Again... wife and kids. This time watching. This stuff can be done safely, but we just can't cut corners. Best of luck. If I can help, let me know. wallace.tharp

Thank you for the for the tips-I don't know if it will ever fly but the quest to build a Tri-pacer look a like ,as large as an ultralight aircraft is the project -I was an airforce mechanic for 15 years -and worked at a hardware store for 3 or 4 years in the hardware dept. nuts an bolts yeah --- I will try not to cut corners ...Yes ---that 35 year old cuyuna engine -well- I now have 2 -I hope to do a total rebuild of one -using the best from each and new parts -including carb and coil ....ect ...I have not flown for decade or more -and will not even try too --without more training ,thanks

Default Tripacer

Has anyone seen or heard from RLTripacer? Anyone know anything more about this project? Perhaps he got burned out, like we all do at some point on a big project....

Well . here we go again --- sold or threw out all aircraft and r/c stuff ... girl friend pasted away --and now lets get restarted on a new build... I had just purchased an arrows Bigfoot .... very nice---but a Hostetler cessna 150 converted to taildragger would be just all that and so much more ....the tripacer I had put together got warped so I used it as a display and then discarded it

Last days
