Why not start with a set of Bearcat plans and modify them to suit? Use a good 3-view drawing for assistance. If that isn't available, use pictures to generate the canopy, etc.

I've only scratched built a scat cat so far but I had plans and templetes to help me out. I'm still new to scratch building so all the help I can get will help

I can't find the links right now but if you do searches for pylon racing, Goodyear F2 racing, and searches like that you will find the names and bodystyles of several of the Reno Racers. Then you can search for the plans on Model Airplane News, RCM Magazine, and AMA's website by name. For instance, Little Toot, Midget Mustang, Shoestring, or Cosmic Wind to name a few.
Oops! I just realized you asked this in a Giant Scale forum. I can't remember any of the racers done in the larger scales.

Found some plans on ebay for a bearcat. I have a mentor that is really good a scratch building and is going to help me convert the regular bearcat in to the rare bear
