Bud Nosen P-51 Prop selection 100cc
I have just picked up my first warbird, a Nosen P-51 with a Quadra 75. I was told by the previous owner that the 75 runs kinda sickly, so I plan to replace it with a Quadra 100. My problem is that I dont know what prop will work best for this aplication. Ive been told all kinds of things from a 26x10 to a 24x12 but Im looking more for some first hand experience with a particular brand and size. I am definitley lookig for some speed!

A DA 100 would be alot of work to get in there. The mufflers would most likely be 1/2 in and 1/2 out the cowl. I would startt out with the 26X10. This is a very common breal-in prop for 100cc and it will give good pull. Once the engine is broken in and you are familliar with the airplane you can go down in dia and up in pitch to gain some speed. The 24X12 mentioned may be a good choice.

Yes, The DA 100 is out of the question, I already have the Quadra 100 on ignition and its broken in. My main concearn is which prop to choose. I am familiar with the Sport/3D style props ie: Vess, Xoar,Menz, etc. But Im looking for a good prop for this type of plane and engine combo. If I was to go with a 24x12 , what brand/style??
