Super Coverite

RE: Super Coverite
You are looking for the holy grail of covering ,best of luck .
Super coverite fabric has been gone a long time . I managed to scoop up several rolls of natural about 5 years ago but it's nearly used up now. The best alternative to Super Coverite for me has been the unpainted Solartex from Balsa USA. Sig Koverall is very good and actually has a finer weave but is not self adhesive (which can be a plus on some applications).

RE: Super Coverite
Super Coverite was once the best of the best fabric coverings but things turned bad toward the end of its production. Later batches had the personality of trying to iron cardboard to your model and the adhesive backing had serious problems. It didn't stick well at all and in fact it just sort of chalked off after time had passed. I'm in the process right now of refurbing (2) old favorite planes that have that bad batch of covering on them.
Right now, I much prefer the natural color SolarTex. It irons on well, stays tight over time if heated properly during application and accepts most any paint system well. Cost is reasonable too. I would substitute that for Coverite any day.
