I need help finding parts for old waco
I hope someone can help me find some stuff to get this old waco back in shape. It will be for display only, so I'd like to really slick it out.
I would like to get one of those old detailed looking wood props with the brass leading edges riveted on and a good looking spinner. I need a fake radial motor insert that I'd like to be a really scale detailed looking one. Also needs a spacer to move the prop frwd. And one last thing for now would be a detailed windsheid as the old one is shot. The plane has a 90in. span, not sure what scale that is, does anyone know? If anyone can help me I will really appreciate it.

For a great looking dummy radial, check out Williams Brothers. They have much more detail than any of their competitors.
Tru Turn should be able to set you up with the correct spinner.
Clark Airscrew has great laminated props. You'll have to add the brass detailing and find the correct prop logo.
My guess is that you'll have to fabricate your own windsreen, but proctor sells a 1/4 ay beable to purchase one from them.

You can make the scale dummy engine as I did. Look in the Vintage and antique section. The spinner needs to be something like the AT-6 spinner. You will need to make your prop from something like the Zinger prop, and detail it to scale. This model appears to be a 25% version, since the span for a correct quarter scale is 90 inches. It could be one that was built from a Jim Pepino plan. The windscreen needs to be built up from wood and lexan. Hint, save a couple of 3 liter soft drink bottles.

You can make your own detailed prop. Use a 26" Zinger, and cut an inch off each end (squared). Use aluminum HVAC tape and drawout the shape for the brass L.E., make a pattern and trace it to the tape, cut out and apply. A piece of wooden broomstick makes a good spacer, mount it to the firewall and extend it through the center of the dummy engine. Drill a hole centered in the stick, and screw the prop to it. You can also make a scale prop hub using a fender washer of the appropriate diameter and some #2 hex-head screws to simulate the nuts holding the prop on.

Looks like a Pica Waco to me. If it is then it's either 1/5 or 1/6 scale, they offered both. Just FYI, this particular version of the Waco did not have a spinner originally, although some restored examples do have them added.

Nope. It's not a Pica. He reported the wingspan to be at 90". That makes it a quarter scale. I'm betting it's from a Pepino Plan.

You're right Bill, I managed to overlook that info in the original post despite reading it several times. My bad! Thanks for the correction.

Well I thru some stuff together today for the prop and here is what I ended up with. Should do for display. Now to get a dummy radial. Think I may have to go with the cheapo vacuformed one.
