I did receive the plans and a sample wing rib that was broken but I can fix it to replicate it. My plan is to draw this up in CAD so it's easily shared online in a PDF. It'll take me a bit to get it done as I'm swamped with a few projects right now but I promise to make something of it we can all use.

Step two is I also plan to cut a set of wing ribs on my CNC router. If it goes well I'll see if I can offer up a short kit of parts for others wanting to build a wing.

I think that's great. As I said, it is a working drawing. Used for rib placement. Most of the time I just use a building stick and never draw a plan.

It's plenty of plan for me to work from. I'll see if I can get my retired friend to help me move it along too

Hi, Steve
I would like to purchase a set of plans and a set of ribs when they are ready. I have Ryan that I started but did not like the foam, so I have not worked on it for a few years.
Thanks for all the effort you putting this.

I have a Great Planes Ryan 82" Arf that is 12 years old and has over 225 flights on it. A few years ago, I refinished it with resin and glass on the fus and coverite on the wings. I finished it hobbypoxy paint. It gained some weight, so I replaced the Os 120 Surpass with Saito 80. I will try download some photos later.

Captain, I have the manual but it is in the box, and that box is at the bottom of the stack (as in 45 minutes of rearranging to get at it). If you don't get another response by the weekend, I'll undertake the digging.

I have the manual and a MAN magazine article on PDF. They weren't the best scans but are usable. Scans were sent to me some time ago by another RCU member. Send me a direct email and I will get them to you. All will come via three emails due to file size. Or, if you prefer, look up my profile and send email that way.

Dick T....do you still offer the graphics for the Byron Ryan in Hester scheme?
I need all opinion on engine choice...DLE-35RA or DLE 55RA ?
I'm thinking the DLE-55 will be too much for this plane.

Speedy, no I don't make vinyl graphics any longer. My equipment is as old as me so we're both getting tired.

Sent you a PM but you may not have received it. I can supply the vector files so they can be made at any sign shop. send me a direct email.

Also I plan a stock G-38 for my Ryan. I do believe a 50cc+ will be too much.

Guys, due to my deteriorating health, I'll probably never be able to finish this Ryan. Wings are framed up and ready to cover. Everything is there. ZDZ 40 RE/RI is included. Willing to listen to offers. Located in Central Fl. Don't want to ship.

I wish that your health was improving. If I didn't have one already, I would be talking to you about yours. Good Luck, and I will pass the word to anyone looking for a Ryan.

Looks like this thread is dead. Had another little hiccup with my health, but things are looking up. Started working on the Ryan again. Maybe soon....

Default Byron ST-A right thrust

I am back working on my Ryan and discovered it does not seem to have any right thrust built into the firewall. I always add about 1 or 2 degrees of right thrust into all my warbirds. Has anyone flown the model without any thrust adjustments? I also decided to make the wings and tail surfaces out of balsa. I will show some photos in the future and describe the method I used to draw my own plans and cut my own ribs if anyone is interested.

Thanks, P51 Tom
