Hi Stew:
Welcome to the thread, thanks for the pictures of your 182, it should perform very well on floats, I look forward to seeing your conversion.
I have a 120" C- 182 from a few years ago that I had outfitted with amphibs.
However on this model the wheel assembly was made removeable.
I could only find two pictures in the early stages of the model assembly and floats.
Keep us updated on your progress.
Randy

RE: CESSNA 185 35% TMMY COMPOSITE
Hi and thanks for the welcome.
What is it about Cessnas that draws us and what kit is the Cessna shown?
Tomorrow I'm collecting another 120" 182 by swapping an ASM 120" B17. One or both of my 182s will be fpv'd and become central to a giant scale project I've been dabbling with for a couple of years which is close to fruition.
Anyway, more soon,
Stew.

Hi Stew:
I suppose my interest in the Cessna comes from what I have flown and grown up with over the years.
The model of the 182 was from Austar in Australia from a few years ago.
The fabrication of that model has since been taken over by TMMY composites out of Thailand.
Keep us posted with your amphib. float conversion.
Regards
Randy

Hi Fellows:
Better weather is on us now up here, the 185 is nearing completion of the float conversion.
Wanted to get to the Joe Nall event this year but time didn't permit.
A question for you fellows, I have been trying to contact Tommy lately via email and telephone.
Normally he does reply.
Other than him being normally slow, is there another issue that I'm not aware of.

Hi Grassie:
Sorry the for the delay in replying. If you need some info direct send a PM to me.
My CG for the C-185 is 27% the wing root. That was spot on for the model.
I don't see the C-182 being too much different if you use 27%...
Best regards
Randy

Sorry for the delaying replying, just got your e-mail.
Yes, I would think the DLE 222 cc engine would fit within the cowl.
I used a 3W 212 cc and there was still a lot of room within the cowl.
Go to the 3W web site and get the dimensions of the 212. (The 212 was later replaced with there 220).Then compare with the DLE 222.
Note: Remember the cowl needs to be separated in the middle then the engine baffled to get cooling air to the rear two cylinders.
If you need more info on the process I can post some pics.
Best regards
Randy
PS Go to post #538...it will show the 3W 212 installed with the baffling. Note: In the pic the front baffle is angled...(in the pic it looks vertical but it's not)
As I'm sure you are aware it needs to be angled to deflect the incoming airflow up and into the cowl.
