Default Zero Or P47 scratchbuilders 70~80" span ??

Hi all,

I'm just after some recomendations on scratch building from Plans,
a Mitsubishi Zero or a P47 Thunderbolt in the 70~80" wingspan range,
to suit large 2 s or large 4 s motors.

any tips gratefully appreciated.

Dave Platt has a very nice 79 inch span Zero and Brian Taylor (via Unitracts in the UK) has an equally nice 76 inch span P-47.  Accessories should be available for both.  Those would be my choices for those particular airplanes in the size range you seek.  Good luck with it!

Thanks Chad,

what about the 76" span P47 by Ziroli ???
The little Jug from Ziroli is only 70 inches, or 72 if you build it as an N model. I built one a few years back for a customer, great little airplane and a terrific flyer. It is not as scale as the Brian Taylor and it is tends to build heavy but the weight does not seem to bother the flight performance too much. It could be lightened up quite a bit too but, for myself, I prefer the accuracy and the lighter engineering of the Taylor design. The extra 6 inches span is nice as well.

The little Ziroli I built was around 17 pounds ready to fly, OS 1.60 powered.

Thanks for the kind words Ron. If you have not been there already I would highly recommend www.rcscalebuilder.com. Lots of good info on the site and sure to be some information on the Taylor Jug. Good luck with it!
