1/3 scale Sig Spacewalker Q?
I just purchased a spacewalker, It hasbeen built, covered, radio installed, and it had an engine, however, the owner wanted to keep it. It was a Satio 300 twin. I want to go gas, what size engone should this have? I was thinking along the lines of a Zenoah G-38.
Thanks for the help.

RE: 1/3 scale Sig Spacewalker Q?
Hey, I have flown several and I recommend a Quadra 42 0r Zenoah 45 as a minimal engine. If you want to have a lot of fun a Zenoah G62 or a DL 50 is great! It all depends on what you want to do and your skill level. I talked to the designer in Toledo and he used a G38 in the prototype . He also stated it needed a little more power. Bullwhip.

RE: 1/3 scale Sig Spacewalker Q?
I'll be maidening my 1/3 scale Sig Spacewalker (I assume this is what yours is) hopefully within a week. Mine has a DL-50 on it. I've been making the assumption that it will be overkill big time considering that the engines shown on the plans have a little more than half the power of the DL-50. Maybe I'm wrong.
The good news is the weight should be OK. Sig claims 20lb AUW, I weighed mine last week w/o rx, battery packs, spinner and a few other very light items and it was only about 18 1/2 lb. I was very happy since I tend to build heavy. But the engines available when this model was released were much heavier than today's engines.
I'll find out soon how it does with the DL-50.

Mine weighs about 20# and has a DL-50 in it as well. I chose it becuase it weighs about the same as the recommended g38, and naturally makes more power. It is overpowered, especially for "scale" type flying. But, it is not outrageous overpowered. I did not put any right thrust in it per the plans, and against my better judgement. That would probably be ok for an underpowered motor, but with mine it was a mistake. I ended up adding 2 deg. to it and it flys so much better. I think it still needs a little more. I will probably be adding another deg. in the near future. Good luck.
