Help me decide which airplane for an ASP Radial
I am looking at an ASP FS400AR Four Stroke 5 Cylinder Glow Engine
[link=http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8981&Product_Name=AFS400AR_Four_Stroke_5_Cylinder_Glow_ Engine]ASP 5 Cylinder Radial[/link]
What I need help with is what airframe to drop this into. I am not a 3D flier and prefer biplanes or maybe even a warbird. The specs of the engine are listed below and it seems that it will need a pretty large airplane to mount it on. Please suggest your favorite and where to purchase.
THanks,
HornetFitter

The JAck Devine series of warbirds and racers will work. I have one mounted in my Jack devine Bearcat and had one my Zirolli Skyraider and also the Aeroworks Stearman.The asp is equivalant toa G62....but I was truelly not willing to risk the Skyraider until I had a few flights on the motor. There is a thread on the radial engines wherre there is alot of discussion on this motor in particular. Let me know what you do....veru interested.

Mr. Fitter,
Best choice airframe: mine. Unfortunately, it is too large to ship to you. You will have to send me the engine. Fear not, I will tell you all about how the combination works. If you send a video camera with it, I will be happy to post the result on YouTube.
Your soon to be best friend,
Bedford

dont think it will fit the TFGS P47. The radial is larger than the cowl, I thought about putting on my P47 but no luck. There is a radial engine thread here where you can get all the info . I havent opened mine tosee the quality but that thread has a lot of experience and video

I am also considering this engine in place of a DA50 to go into a Top Flite GS Corsair. Provided the power is on par with the G62 and it fits in the cowel do you think it would be a good match? I got told the Corsair would be too heavy for this engine (around the 28-30lb mark).

Can't seem to find a spec on the diameter of this set up. What is the smallest cowl this motor with exhaust ring will fit? Power wise, to big or small for a 96" W/S Northrop Gamma weighing in at around 20 lb's? Thanks

What about spare parts. Didnt see any listed at HK. I'm somewhat interested, but would need all the support that goes with an engine like this. In the other thread a guy had problems with the piston wrist pins breaking. I dont mind working on the engine myself but parts would be a big concern.
