I bought my fiberglass cowl and pants from Fiberglass Specialties, I think? They were definitely not a Nosen part.

Back at post 175 you reffer to a guy who made windows with 15 thousandths polyethelene sheeting. Is this rigid stock? I thought that stuff was like plyablehouse window insulating sheet.sold in kits for winterizing. The hobby store window matterialis like stiff acetate. Thanks forany input. I have a Beaver in process and would like to makewindows for it.

Watch ebay for plans. there is a seller who lists them now and then.
Also, another seller lists a short laser cut kit with the formers and ribs done for you. he also lists a short wing kit by itself for those needing repairs.

been too cold in the basement this winter, so no progress on mine...

I can only go with what the article has to say, I have not tried the method for the windows yet.
My guess is that it is the rigid material, I think the storm window stuff will not hold the shape and flex too much.

RE: BUD NOSEN 1/4 scale CITABRIA BUILD COMPLETION
no problem dasflugmodele, I'm building the BN Citabria kit and purchasing his BN Citabria short kit to replace about 80to 90% of the original BN kitand will be replacing everything but the 48 in. and 36 in.sticks with his stuff, BN was well known for for the die smashing andlow grade wood quality. Fresh, perfect fitting, lasercut wood and using spruce in placesof the balsa stringers onthe four corners of thefuse will help soak up the minimal vibrations of a DLE 30cc I'm using......

Phil,
I got your e-mail on the Nosen Citabria short kit for your non computer using friend. However, I was purging old messages so that i had room to down load pictures I wanted to send you. You guessed it, I deleted your email and have no way to get a hold of you. This thread is where you saw my email address, so I am taking a stab in the dark. Maybe you will read this and send me another email. [email protected] Sorry about throwing your message in the trash (didn`t mean it).
Brian

RE: BUD NOSEN 1/4 scale CITABRIA BUILD COMPLETION
Hi Brian,
It's a small world. First let me say, I'm resending my email.
Actually, my non-computer friend called me to let me know you had posted here about trashing the email. Funny! He still has no computer access but he knew about your post before I did. He has been chasing a BN Citabria kit for some time though and had another friend located near his "summer" residence looking for one too. Actually, it was that friend who put me onto this thread in the first place. So anyway, the other fellow saw your post about losing the email, called up the mutual non-computer friend who then called me. So I'm back here looking to see what's up and saw your post. So go check your email.
Thanks!

RE: BUD NOSEN 1/4 scale CITABRIA BUILD COMPLETION
received my well packagedCitabria shortkit from Brian today and was very impressed with his stuff, top notch lasercutting and greatwood quality! He alsoincludes extras likelasercut fuselage braces, ply F8 and F10 and a good set of plans and instructions. Excellent precision fitting stuff, great price and saves alot of extrasanding/work that comes with the die smashing in the original kits, thanks Brian, very nice work you do! Mike

RE: BUD NOSEN 1/4 scale CITABRIA BUILD COMPLETION
see my build, i just finished rebuilding her after a crash. by the way, i moved my CG to 4 3/8 from the leading edge, the maiden was at 5 inches and she was very very pitchy, had a very hard time getting her back on the ground. as for engine, i flew it for years with a G38 (Zenoah) then on the rebuild i installed a DLE 30, with half the weight, and lots of power.. A DLE 20 would most likely pull her around just fine, i will be flying again this week end http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1665059

How much does Brian sell the short kit and plans for?
I'd like to order one and realize he won't be cutting any more kits until after thanksgiving....
Thanks in advance.

What servos are being used for the ailerons. I have standard in there now and it wont control it unless I'm just almost at idle.

mastmec, I will have to remember that.
I am trying these HD servos in another plane. if they continue to work, I will be using them in more planes...
