RE: AUSTARS MODEL new 120” Ag Husky build
Paul, Thanks for the reply. I had calculated the C/G from the same point you did, ignoring the small part at the root-it is nice to know that that I got that right I was getting concerned with weight though, glad to hear yours weighed the same. She'll balance with 3lbs of lead, and 12 A123 2300MAh cells (4600mAh x 2 @ 6.6v for the RX and 2300mAh X 1 @ 6.6v for the ignition) just at the firewall and be at 37lbs dry. I had thought about adding more battery capacity instead of dead weight, but with that much capacity, I'd just as well make her electric! Right now she has a DA100 in the nose and she'll be the club primary tow plane.
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve
Landings should be with flaps, speed and a soft touchdown as the ali gear is near its limits with the weight, a hard landing will see the gear bend which is my preference, less chance of breaking the fus.
You may wish to upgrade the U/C if it does not suit you.
Good luck, it flies great.
Cheers

Hi guys....old thread, but Im in the finishing stages of assembling mine.
I glued the tail fins on permanently, and installed the elevator servos up front in the fise, and installed carbon pushrods to try keep the weight up front.
I have installed a 70cc NGH boxer, and see how it goes.
What CG dud you guys settle at ?
Still seems to need a good chink og lead in the nose to balance out :-)
