Velox 33% by Krill Build
I will be receiving my Krill Velox 33% this coming week. Since I didn't find much online on the build, I have decided to take lots of pics and document my build for others to checkout. I think and hope there will be enough interest on this build. The power plant for the Velox will be a 3W 80 with canister. Talking to IVO at Krill, he thinks it a perfect fit for IMAC.
Radio install will be a 72mhz receiver and with 6 digital servos and 2 2300nimh 6vold parallel battery system. THis is my favorite setup, which is 'old school' light and I have never had a problem with it. Radio is a Multiplex Evo 12 .[b]

I am interested. I acquired a 47% Velox from Krill Models and I have very little to go on. There is no manual, and a few wood pieces for what I assume is to reinforce the fuselage, and the attachment points of the servos and other parts.
Yes, I would appreciate some build pictures and some ideas on where everything goes.
Here are a few pictures of my airplane:
As a size comparison, that is a Ford Expedition that is transporting that monster:

Rafael,
I currently fly two other composites which are a Yak 55SP and an Extra 300L. Both are fantastic. I did find a detailed thread in Germany that has detailed pics on the Velox 47%. I will try finding it again. What made you get such a HUGE bird? Do you enjoy the larger size planes? Have you tried emailing IVO at Krill? He is really good about getting back to you on his products.

I emailed Krill and they sent me a group of pictures that I also got from the previous owner. They give me some indication of where stuff goes, but I want to be sure. I will utilize the pictures and whatever I can learn to finish the airplane.

Just found out that the Velox will be arriving Jan 26th. I have all parts ready to go. Utilizing a Hitec hs_5935 for the rudder. This is a fantastic servo which has been discontinued. The Hitec Hs-5945 took it's place but is a little slower.

The Velox will have two bottles, gas and smoke. I picked up the bottle caps made in Germany and he has a cool website as well. I will be using Glacier Smart Water bottles. The Velox should arrive tomorrow, YIPPIE.

Congrats. I've had one of these for a year and will probably try to finish it this summer. I was originally going to go electric, but instead will go with a Mintor 110 and pipes. What scheme is yours? Mine was the extreme, but I wasn't too excited about it so it's getting a custom paint job right now. I'm going to run 7955's all around with A-123's. Can't wait for it to get done. I currently have a CARF 330L I was going to fly in IMAC this year, but will probably go with the Velox when I'm done.
Rafael, that plane is HUGE. Looks great though... Do you know the specs?
Also, there are a ton of pics and some videos on this build thread: http://www.rc-network.de/forum/showt...ht=velox+krill

The German website for the gas bottle caps and complete hardware is: http://www.richter-lackierung.de/akt...modellflug.htm
It takes about a week to arrive and Richter takes PAYPAL. I ordered two of them for around $40.00 and they are excellent machined parts. You won't be disappointed.
Tomorrow I will post some pics of the newly arrived Velox.

RE: Velox 33% by Krill Build
Alright now! The Velox arrived. After I opened it to inspect for any damage I quickly realized that the fiberglass finish is very poor compared to the COMP ARF models. Oh well, I own it now. No instructions or cd came with it. The coloring is what I needed and the canopy is super cool. The inside of the Krill is superior over the Comp Arf models however. Firewall reinforcement is very strong looking as well. Got some pics...

The paint does line up. I am not too happy with the paint job since it's a little scuffed in parts. I will try getting it out. The comp arf's are way better and really shinny looking in color. Hopefully I will get it out. Do you have the instructions you could email me?
ps.. how do you download or upload pics? I tried clicking the upload image in the post. Weird

I'll see if I can find the CD and paperwork. I know it's around here somewhere. If I recall, it's mainly just a bunch of pics with no real instructions. There were some written instructions also. To upload, I could only find a way to do it by quoting an earlier response in the thread.

THanks so much for the pdf instructions. I have also been on the German website (listed above) and have been doing some reading. Seems like it will be a great bird once I am done with it. The 3W 80 should pull it nicely. Still debating on what wing servos to use.

Getting ready to install the 3w 80. Lots of pics on the cd but none show you exactly how to install. I mounted mine 5/16 off center. Don't forget the pic showing is the Velox upside down.
