Hey Rich,

It is looking great. I came very close to losing my Big Cessna182 this weekend. I was at our club scale fly-in and this guy kept coming over to my trailer and asking questions about it. Before I knew it he was making me offers that were very hard to say no to. Man it is very hard to say no when you have a fist full of hundred dollar bills waved in your face. I did the next best thing. I sold him all the parts to build one just like mine but I will help him put it together. The squadron continues to grow!!

Local Tucson, or Local Phoenix?

That would be something to see three in the air.

Got the flight video from yesterday!
"Spock" the sock monkey did a great job of piloting!
By the way, this was also his first solo.

Enjoy!

Wow,very nice cessna. Where you got that antennas from?

Airframe Inventer 11-30-2011 08:40 AM

RE: *ASM Cessna 182 (10ft) 30-50cc*

I made them.
I think it is strange ASM did not make anteneas for this model.
I think this is one ofe the most recognizeable features of the Cessna 182.

We had a great time with the ASM Cessna 182 this weekend at the "Wings Over Arizona" event.
Saturdays weather was good only to about 11:30am befor the rain came.
Sunday was better but got socked in with heavy fog for about an hour and a half! Unheard of in this area and very rare.
I peeked into Captmicom's trailer and saw his ASM Cessna. I wish the planes could have flown together,
That would have made for great video!
I do have a video of the Sunday flight.
I'll also threw in some pics.
SIMLAB your really going to like this model.
Thanks, Richard

Well done! Looks lovely...how did you make the twin aerials?

Airframe Inventer 12-12-2011 08:06 PM

RE: *ASM Cessna 182 (10ft) 30-50cc*

I carved the aerials from balsa wood.
I covered them with film.
Attached them with rare earth magnets.

Well done Airframe Inventer, ive done a bit more on mine whilst the weather is bad here, the back end is done, wings are done and now the engine is in although it will be comming out to fuel proof.going to put the rx and ignition batts on the firewall and the light system batt behind the firewall to get the weight up front,i have read that most come with a 1000cc fuel tank , mine came with a 450cc and the front axle differs from the instructions, the axle is just has 2 circlips which hold it in place so i used self tappers to hold the wooden blocks on to the fork assembley then stuck some rubber matting inside the spat so the heads of the screws will squash into them when i secure the spat with some more self tappers, then paint the heads of the screws so you don't notice them too much, hopefully it wont fall off.
