Default Global Jet Club Viper Jet

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would compile some hand information on one of our most popular jets at the moment, the GJC Viper Jet.

This is a fantastic little jet and will fly on a variety of engines like the K80 and VT80's, K100 & M100 engines and even up to a 120n size engine in some cases.

With the right setup it is a great jet to fly and can land on short fields with ease. Below are the setup specs that we have tested and proven to work best to give you a smooth flying jet. I have attached a handy PDF with these details to help you with your setup

Center of Gravity
After testing out various locations we have found thesweet spot to be at the front opening of the main hatch inline with the intakes. You should balance your plane withthe GEAR UP and your UAT / Header tank full and themain fuel tanks empty. In this location the nose of theplane should dip down slightly.

Flap Setup
We have used 25mm of down throw for take offflaps and 55mm down throw for landing flap. Youwill need to mix in down elevator for both setting. On our Viper we used approximately 3mm down fortakeoff flap and 5mm down for landing flap. As notall models will be exactly the same this setting mayor may not be exact on your model however it is agood point to start for initial flights (Allmeasurements made at the root of the surface) We have also found that mixing in about 5mm of crow really helps slow it down for short field operations.

Control Throws
On our Viper we have used the following controlsurface throws measured from the root of eachsurface. 20% expo was used on all surfaces
Elevator - 20mm up / down
Aileron - 20mm up/down
Rudder - 25mm left/right

Jeremy,
I am putting in a Jetcat in the one I am building. I have a question. What thickness spacer are you using for the turbine mount. I know that usually you would use a 3/8" spacer, but unless my eyes are playing tricks on me it looks like it is center without any spacer under the straps.
Thanks

Hi Graham,

No I did use a spacer to get it level, I just cut it to the size of the JC mount. I think mine was about 6mm which is about 3/8"

Regards

Jeremy
