Need a cost estimate for a Jack Stafford B-24
Jack Stafford B-24, estimated at 13lbs, 5-10 min flights
I’m trying to figure out if I can affordto go electric forthis project, and what it would cost in 2012 dollars (the stafford b-24 threads are at least 2-5 years old and quote old, maybe out of date parts).I currently know little about electrics, other than I think I’ll need about 950-1050 watts figuring a 13lb plane.
Any ballpark cost estimate would help, using reasonable but not necessarily top of the line components - thanks.

Lets say the plane comes in at 15 pounds, just for the sake of argument. So that would be 15/4 so each motor will have to pull 3.5 pounds, give or take a little. So if we set up to pull 4 pounds a motor, that should be way over a 1:1 power to weight ratio.

Per the calc program it should pull right at 3.9 pounds of thrust with a 3s battery and a 10X7 3bladed prop

Thanks so much for the information, Iwas using old info and the cost Icame up with was well over $800 - too much . I'll do some more research, but for now the project is viable.
