GOLDBERG'S LADY PERFECT TRAINER?
[>:]Hello guys
I am thinking to built the perfect trainer.
I fly Goldberg's lady [the classic one not the t-tail version]for about 7 years and i' have built electra too.It is a very forgiving plane very light and the ideal one to start with.Trying to learn a friend of mine to fly glow planes i
deside to put an OS 30 4-stroke in one of my ladys .I now that this is gonna be the easiest way for someone to get airborne.Have anyone try
similar projects?

A .30 4 stroke in a Gentle Lady?
WOW.
That would be WAAAAY overkill, in my opinion. My old Gentle Lady flies pretty well using a Cox Tee Dee .049 glow engine on a pod over the wing. Of course, the engine is just for hauling the plane up to altitude. Most folks are using either a geared 380 or direct drive speed 400 or so for these planes. I doubt if you could even get the plane to balance properly with a .30 4 stroke on the nose, not to mention having to find a place for a usable sized fuel tank, and the vibration and stress levels placed on the light airframe and wings. Can you say "wing fold"?
I'd rethink this choice if it were me. Good luck.
