Default Advise for coverting a Modeltech P-51D 40

I would like to buy and covert this kit to electric, I would like to know if Modlerech is a good brand and or the above mentioned kit,
Also what are some motors and gear boxes that would be suitable for flight, I am looking for speed and power.

Can't really say much about Modeltech as a brand, as I have no personal experience. Their Magic 3D ARF is a popular electric conversion, and from my travels, Modeltech is a well-regarded ARF manufacturer.

Vulgar displays of speed and power will require extra Watts. My normal recommendation of 16 cells at 40 Amps will get you around 100 Watts per pound on a carefully-built .40-size ARF. You'll probably want more, probably 800+ Watts. That's 20 cells at 40 Amps, or 16 cells at 50 Amps. In this case, you'll probably want 6S LiPoly, with enough parallel packs to get you 40 Amps, to give you reasonable flight times and some weight reduction.
