Default kyosho PT-19 Conversion

Hello,
I have a Kyosho and a Global hobbies Pt-19
And I want to convert one of them to electric.
They are about the same size.
5 to 6lbs
60 inch wingspan
570 sq inch's of wing
48 inch's in length.
What would be a good setup for this kind of model?
From what I've seen looks like a hacker 50 (? size)
and some ly-polys for weight savings, but I don't know the sizes.
Please offer your opinions and or recommendation's.
Thanks in advance, Mark

Default RE: kyosho PT-19 Conversion

I got a converted Kyosho PT-19 that I have not flown yet. I plan to use a Mega 22/30/4 and 10 cells. I have read about one that had flown it on 9 cells.
It's supposed to fly great on a low power setup.

Mark,
I wish I had a Kyosho PT-19 to convert to electric. As I understand, they have taken the PT-19 off the production line. Too bad, because it is one of my favorite models (I built two Pilot PT-19 models for .19 glow engine some 20+ years ago...). Anyway, I have converted a Kyoso PT-17, and it is a really good flyer. It weighs 2.9 kg but performs well on 10 cells, powered by a LRK 350/20-12.5 brushless outrunner.

Kyosho make good models, but they seem to be a bit "overengineered". Heavy but crash-resistance like a flying iron stove!

Have a look at http://w1.877.telia.com/~u87743572/index.htm

Good luck with yor electric powered Kyosho PT-19!
