Default Hanger 9 Funtana 90 Conversion

Sometime soon I will try my first conversion from nitro to electric power. Horizon claims in a recent ad, that the Funtna 90 is a good candidate for electric conversion. Anyone have any suggestions as to what motor, speed control, batteries, etc. it might take to make this conversion? Thanks in advance.......

John,

I also saw that ad and want one! Unfortunitly, I don't have a power system for it but feel that you would need to use a Hacker C50 Acro setup on 30-cells with a 22" prop.

Thanks Greg; The Hacker C50 motors seem to be a popular choice for the larger airplanes. I have their web site on file and will definately keep them in mind. Thanks for the reply, as I am new to electric planes and am open to all info/options............

I've done the conversion. Hacker C50 12xl/6.7 gearbox. Batteries 8s to 10S 3p Thunder Power Batteries. Prop depends on batteries, 21x14 APCe on 8s and 20x10 or 11 on 10s. 10 s has insane power. I'll have it at Joe Nall this week and may do a few demos if time permits.

Any other questions fire away!

Thanks Steve; Just the type of info I was looking for. Obviously the conversion went well, or you wouldn't be going to the "Nall" with it. Hopefully we'll see a review of this set up in the near future..................

Steve,
Glad to see you already in the bag with one. I hope someone will get some video for you.

This should be as simple as the FuntanaS 40 was to convert. Just waiting for the LHS to get one as I would like to have one flying at SEFF.
