a 2kg plane would fly on a brushed Endoplasma motor if geard properly, but you need a 10cell setup pulling 40 amps

25amps and a 1000mAh 8.4v pack will never fly that plane.

you need atleast 400watts of power

the cheapest setup I can think of is 10 nimh cells sanyo 2600 or GP3300... cheapbatterypacks.com have some nice ones. endoplasma with the greatplanes GD600, gwmp.net and a 40-50A ESC.

this will fly the plane but not unlimited.

next step is a brushless outrunner setup, still useing 10-12cells and a AXI for example... a bit more expensive but you get a very nice flying plane for relatively little money.

choose a geard Hacker/li-poly setup for insane performance beyond any glow setup.
