Need an Electric Motor
I have a MK 12x3 propeller which is driven by a YS45 2-stroke engine up to about 14,000rpm.
Now for the purpose of running the propeller in a wind tunnel, the YS45 needs to be subsituted with an electric motor. Could anyone recommend a suitable motor?
As this is for a wind tunnel test rather than flight, there are no weight constraints.
Thanks very much,
K I Chan

RE: Need an Electric Motor
How close does it need to be to 14K RPM?
A Mega 22/30/2 Geared 2:1 on 18 cells will turn the 12X3 at ~13940 RPMs.
Add another cell to 19 and it goes up to 14405 RPM
The 22/30 is good to 70 amps and this would put it in the 56-59 amp range.
Jeti 45-3 Direct Drive on 21 cells 50 amps $ 14100 RPMs.
