Converting a Kyosho F-86F Sabre
I would like to convert a Kyosho F-86F GP Sabre to Electric. I have a some knowledge in converting prop planes but nothing like this. Anyone know of someone who has converted a similar kit to electric and can maybe give me some tips ?

Not knowing anything about the specifications of the Kyosho F-86, I can only make vague suggestions:
You'll definitely want to run the largest EDF unit you can cram into the plane. Bigger at lower RPM is more efficient.
LiPoly to keep the weight down. Probably a 3-cell pack, maybe 4.
You'll want a pretty hot brushless motor. Even with the biggest fan you can get, you'll need to run it at some ungodly RPM.

RE: Converting a Kyosho F-86F Sabre
I used MotoCalc and came up with these figures for my Kyosho F-16. They should be pretty close for the Mig-15
Motor: Astro Brushless 020 Fan 4T#19 #803FM; 3300rpm/V; 1A no-load; 0.045 Ohms.
Battery: Thunder Power TP1950; 4 series x 3 parallel cells; 1950mAh @ 3.7V; 0.015 Ohms/cell.
Speed Control: Castle Creations Phoenix 45; 0.0026 Ohms; High rate.
Drive System: Aeronaut Turbo Fan 1000 (0); 3.5x4.54 (1.6in hub); (Pcoeff=0.785; Tcoeff=0.964).
Airframe: Kyosho F-16; 341sq.in; 54.4oz; 23oz/sq.ft; Cd=0.055; Cl=0.48; Clopt=0.58; Clmax=1.08.
Stats: 166 W/lb in; 65 W/lb out; 25mph stall; 34mph opt @ 41% (37:39, 143°F); 37mph level @ 43% (34:21, 148°F); 606ft/min @ 11.6°; -333ft/min @ -6.3°.

My F-86 flew great with a WeMoTec Midi fan and a Mega 22/20/3 on a 4S4P LiPo pack. I located the fan all the way in the back so the hole for the pull start was used as a aux inlet. Great flier with this setup There are details over on Ezonemag.com
