Default SeaGull PC-9 Conversion AXI 4120- Jeti 70opo

I am in the process of finishing up a conversion of the Seagull PC-9 and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where and how I should mount the battery pack. The opening where the fuel tank would be is from back of firewall to servo tray is 8 1/8 x 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 rectangle. I have thought about building a flat bed for the pack to sit in the center with some side blocks with top straps to hold in place.

I am currently thinking about 12 -16 cell packs GP330 Nmih in a 2x2 stick configuration. Any other battery suggestion would also be welcomed. In that configuration the max dimensions would be 6.76 x 1.76 x 1.76 inches.

Thanks

Troy

The deciding factor in where you place your battery pack will be CG. Any battery tray you make should allow for the pack to slide back and forth.

Mounting batteries, in my experience, is never easy. There isn't one perfect elegant solution for every situation. Originally, I thought Velcro was the answer, but inevitably the Velcro grip proves to be stronger than any adhesive or underlying wood.
