Seagull Models Decathlon conversion
I finished this conversion about 6 months ago and finally got some video of it. It's powered by an AXI 28/26/10, CC PHX 60 and Thunder Power 3S3P 6300. Ready to fly weight is 7lbs. The ground handling is a little squirrelly but once in the air it's fun to fly. It requires quite a bit of rudder for coordinated turns but once you get used to it its no big deal. No pics at the moment but you can see
the video here.

Darren,
Awesome conversion! Thanks for sharing the video.
I love Decathlon's and only have the small Parkzone version. The Seagull Model's Decathlon looks like a great size for an e-conversion.

Thanks Greg,
I like this plane as well, although if I could start over I would use a 41/20 series motor. I am still very happy with it as is and don't plan to change anything.

Here are a few pictures.
Motor installation, battery hatch and completed plane.

Nice setup.
I plan on doing a conversion on the Global Decathlon in the future using either a 2826 or a 41 series motor. Still undecided on if I should go with 2 six cell NiCads or 2 four cell Lipos.
Enjoyed the video!

Thanks Adam,
Good luck with your conversion. As far as Batteries go the 10+ minute flights that lipo's provide are very nice. I'm sure it will be fun however you decide to power it.
Darren.

RE: Seagull Models Decathlon conversion
I used the Seagull Decathlon to test motor and bat. intended for a KMP-P38 conversion. Used AXI-4130/18 with 6s 8000ma Thunderpower LiPoly. Used APC 15/8 prop; with this combo yields 1400 watts at full Powar (static.) I used FMA receiver with data recorder and InFlight watt meter. With all those batteries the beast weighed 9lb but only requires about 200 watts to maintain level flight. The plane will go from slow flight to vertical and acted like it would go vertical forever; however, full power vertical exceeds the spec of both the motor and speed controller it is not advisable to hold it more than a few seconds. Flew the plane for 30min landed, tookoff again, flew for another 10min and landed; batteries still had plenty of power left.
