Default Hanger 9 Showtime 4d with actro 40-5 12s2p setup with pics

So I finaly got my showtime, And this thing has a great covering job really really well done. Pre drilled holes for on everything. It is a great looking plane.

So I have the kit now, and I am jumping right in to the power system. I have a actro 40 - 5 with a hacker 77 and 3 4s2p 4400 that I have run in a series to make a 12s2p. THe battries are brand name electric power , 14V . I am going to take some pics now and post them here later today, if any one has any Ideas or any comments let me know. I will be running 8611 all around an jr 649 reciver, And I am thinking about the FMA voltage regulator, let me know what you think

The Hacker 77-amp Master controller is only rated to 30 cells or 9s Lithium according to the Esprit dealer.

I would power the Actro 40-5 with an 8s pack using an APC 20x11 e-prop.

can the motor handle 12s, 50 volts?
IF you want to keep your setup, why not use that Castle Creations PHX 85HV?

Hey Greg,

I think I am going to get the jeti 90 for this set up, I hooked the 12s2p with the actro and the hacker 77 in a h9 miss america and the power was crazy, it was too much for the plane but the engine performed great, BUt at any prolonged time at that power would be seting my self up for disaster,so I think I am going to get on the wait list for the jeti 90, also what is your opinion on the eletric power battries , they look almost the same as the thunder power gen 1 or 2 , but do you think that they are to heavy, what if I did tp 10s pack more than half the weight reduced I think.

BUt what would be the very best set up for the motor with the jeti 90, the most power possible, 10s , 12s, ?

thanks for your input guys , Also greg where do you fly in NY I live in mannhattan and would love tohave your pilot test out the showtime with one of your madein flights of one of your new conversions. And do you think that I should get FMA regulator for the setup.

thanks

I have been testing some on 10, 12 and 14s Lipo on Actro 60, 40 and HP370/50, for an Actro to run good on high load you need a good fast controller with right software, Schulze Future 40.70 V16 (or 40.160 V16) also the Jeti advance 77 and 90 works best on 10s Lipo, specialy the 90 for better % and stays cooler, i think the Actro 12,24,32,40 will work well on the Kontronik JAZZ also.

The Actro 40-5 i would not go over 10s Lipo, i have runned that alot on 10s Lipo up to 20x10", this gives both speed and trust, for use with more than 10s Lipo go for the 6wind or order a special wind 40.

12s2p on HP370/50/A3 spinns a 20x11" carbor prop to 7250rpm with 43v 77amp

Actro 60-175 spinns a 22x10" wood on 12s2p to almost 6000rpm and only 54A 44v, this motor can be proped bigger but first we need a better controller to handle this load.

For setups on 10s up to 12s it has not been possible to run on the APCE props on some motors (xtra 25-14, Actro 32-5, 40-5, 60-140, 60-175, HP370/50), they cant handle the power, bad experience on 17x10, 20x10, 26x15, 27x13 on to much rpm/power, better to use wood or carbon.

Slightly off topic, but do you have experiences with the Hacker C50 13XL or 12XL? If yes, how do the Acro 40-5 compare to these on 10-cells?

no i have not tested any C50XL yet, but have one one the way for testing and comparing with a few other motors, what i can say now that i know is that the Actro are more effishent even if you dont count with gearbox, and stays cooler.
