Default Pitts Conversion

I've got a kit for a glow-powered Pitts that I'm considering converting to electric power. I've been flying R/C for a few years, and I'm just starting to get into electrics so any recommendations as to how I should go about making the conversion (i.e. battery/motor/ESC type/location, potential problem areas, construction differences, etc.) would be a great help.
Here's some specs of the plane:
28in length
33in span
341sq in wing area
33-38oz weight
.10-.15 glow engine

thanx![sm=biggrin.gif]

Default RE: Pitts Conversion

It's actually quite easy. Let's say your Pitts weighs about 36oz or 2.25lbs. Simply multiple 2.25 x 100w/lb to get 225 watts for your motor power class.

An [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless-axi2820.htm]AXI 2820/10[/link] motor will supply that power on a 3-cell Lithium pack using an APC 10x6 e-prop.

Since you'll be drawing about 30amps max, you could use either the [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/kokam.htm]Kokam 2AH or 3.2AH[/link] 3-cell packs.

Good luck!
