RE: large scale electric
Hi,
I have used Actro 40-6 with 10s kokam lipo pack for several years, flown some dozen competitions also with it,
it works superbly on Cubs, high torque makes it very nicely handling in scale maneuvers.
Br,
Hannu

Hannu,
Love those skis!
The Actro motors are getting hard to find in the U.S. since Hobby Lobby discontinued selling them. The AXI motors are easily available here and cost much less money.
type-one,
The discontinued 1/4-scale Hangar 9 J-3 Cub should have the following specs:
Wing Span: 100 in (254 cm)
Flying Weight: 13-16 lbs (5.9 - 7.3 kg)
Engine Size: 1.08 - 1.48 (2-stroke), 1.20-1.80 (4-stroke)
If so, then the following combination will work well.

[link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/jetiblue.htm]Jeti 90-amp Advance PLUS ESC[/link]
10s Lithium pack that can handle 60amps continuous

RE: large scale electric
Hi,
I did nt know that Actro´s are not anymore represented in the US. What I like in Actro 40-6 is its enormous torque, it is
far higher torque than Axi. I used mine also for aerotowing, for 4 meter gliders, and reached one time Stand Off Scale championships in Finland with Actro. In Cub type plane torque is the number one criteria choosing motor, I think.
