Default Looking for Motor to Replace Gas Engine

Hi,

I am currently using a 22cc rear-exhaust gasoline engine with a 19x6 propeller, which turns at maximum 9,000rpm at static conditions. The engine is the Moki 20 from Airworld Modellbau with details at www.airworld.de

I now wish to replace this engine with an electric motor. Would anyone know of motors which could reproduce the same maximum rpm with the 19x6 propeller at static conditions?

Thanks very much
K I Chan

This reading below may help you choose the correct motor.

To spin a 19" prop at high RPMs, consider an [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless-axi5330.htm]AXI 5330/18[/link] motor on a 12s Lithium supply that can deliver 80-100 amps burst current.

Good luck!

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the recommendation.

Could you advice on a suitable speed controller to go with this motor and battery combination?

Regards

A Castle Creations 85 or 110A controller would work.
