1/2 A Honker/Want to go electric
Hi,
I just finished my Honker tonight but we're expecting 5 inches of snow tomorrow and 40mph winds so I probably won't be flying it anytime soon. I built this one straight forward as per the plans and it is rudder elevator with a Black Widow .049. I traced all of the parts before assembling this one and I have enough parts now for 2-3 more.
The folks on the 1/2 A forum suggest that I should build one with aileron and elevator only. This will be my next project. After that I may try to add on to the wing and make a glider out of the next one.
My question here is: if I decide to go electric, what components should I consider? For those of you not familiar with the Honker, it has a 36" wingspan with a Jedefsky airfoil and weighs between 16-22 oz. I'm not interested in having it fly like a rocket, but I would like a little zip. Suggestions please.
P.S. I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the 1/2 A forum so I took a shot and posted it here because this pretty much falls under the category of electric conversions.
Thanks,
Clyde
