Model Tech Magic .46 to Electric?
Thinking about converting a Model Tech Magic Extra .46 from glow to electric.
Has anyone tried this with this model and what modifications where made?
Also, what setup did you use.
Any info would be a great help! Thanks!!!

RE: Model Tech Magic .46 to Electric?
Jeti 30-3 motor or AXI 282010
3700 mah 20C 4S lipo
40+ Amp ESC
12 x 6 Prop
My Jeti was well abused and lasted 3 years until I went to a 13 x 8 prop, overheated it and the magnets came out and shattered. HL has raised the price too high too replace it. If it is ever on sale, I'll get another.
AXI has a good warrenty but runs hotter. Better cooling needed with this motor. Sold mine!
I'm using a $53 Chinese knockoff from BPHobbies right now! Good motor! No warrenty!

RE: Model Tech Magic .46 to Electric?
I picked up a Magic kit at a swap meet last month. I remembered seeing an article on converting one to electric power and that was my intent. However, after pricing the equipment at HL I'm considering going back to gas (just for this plane) or selling it. I will check out BPhobbies as mentioned in StephenT's message.

I just got a system like that. 4S1P lipo 4000 Mah, $75 (True R/C)
45 amp esc, $50 "
High voltage UBEC $15 "
Equivalent Atlas motor $72 (H.L.)
All at once, its only around $200. One peice at at time, not nearly as bad; especially if you're a slow builder!
NO MORE PAPER TOWELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
