Need Help ... Lanier Ripper to Electric
This will be my first G to E converstion so be nice.
This will be a direct drive system swinging about a 9x4 - 10x4 prop.
Plane: Lanier Ripper
Plane weight: 2.5-3 lbs
Motor: Align 430L Brushless Outrunner 3550Kv
Speed contol: 35A (Not sure which one yet)
Battery: 2100 3cell Lipo 16-25C
Am I way off with my set up?

that morotr is way to high for a 9-10 inch prop. you will b able to run a 4.5 inch max probobly. it is a 10-15 size glow plane so probobly the eflite power 10 motor, 1 40 amp esc and a around 3000mah pack ewill power it beautifully.

Unfortunately, you'll have phenomenal power for about 4 seconds before the LVC cuts in or the ESC burns up. That's a heli motor, designed to be run with gear reduction. It'd make a good speed motor for something like a Projeti that needs a small 4" prop and 100MPH+ speed.
You'll want something with about half the Kv rating, somewhere in the 1500-1700 range, capable of handling a 3S LiPoly at about 40 Amps. You'll also want a battery that's up to the task, something closer to 3000mAh.
