Electra-fing the World Models 70" P-47
OK... I'm about ready to start the project.
I have acquired an E-flite 110 motor, Phoenix HV 85 Brush less Motor Speed Controller, half dozen or so 2500ma 3s 25C Evo Lipos, servos, and the ARF kit. According to my math 3 in series grouped two banks in parallel should provide power to spare, and swing a 16 X 10 or 17 X 8 prop.
I decided on the 11.1 bat bundled and grouped so I could stack the batteries as far forward as might be needed to keep the CG forward. The fuse is very large-a-round which provides room to spare up front! I liked Terry's idea of cutting out a battery access hatch on top for easy access the he did for his P-51.
What say any of you that have already done a similar large aircraft setup??

Lee, Here'a a similar version. NitroPlanes/ CMP P47, 71" w/s.
Eflite 110 motor, CC 60 with separate BEC, 6S3700 20 C packs, Hitec/Bluebird/JR servos, Hitec rx, APC 14.75 x 12 x 4 prop. Working flaps, and retracts. Packs mount in the belly pan, made it a quick change set up. Spring latch holds the pan in. Pop the latch and there's the packs.
I've done quite a few of these larger birds, Hangar 9 Camel and P40, the above CMP P47, 90" P38, and the 120 scale Corsair, Polks Hobby DC3 converted to an AC47 gunship, and a VQ model's 83" P38 is next up for me.
