Need plane suggestions for 60 - 90 aerobatic e-conversion?
Sometimes it's just easier to start a thread.... I've been reading threads and researching for days and I'm rather confused.
I'm looking for a 60 to 90 size bird to convert to electric, which will be mainly used for IMAC aerobatic type flying, little to no 3D. I've had a couple Extras both in glow and gas and love the way they fly but would like to try an Edge (or even a Yak). I'm not locked into the Edge, so anything would do. I've had my eye on the Wild Hare 73" Edge, but would like to explore other options before pulling the trigger.
I will be running A123 packs, nothing built yet - just three DeWalt packs sitting on the bench waiting to be converted.
I was kind of thinking along the lines of an E-Flite 110 (or equivalent), CC HV 85a ESC, and something like 8-12s 1 or 2p. I am waiting on getting an airframe in order to figure out final motor/esc/battery selection.
So, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Bob

Bob - for your set up you want to go with a 1/4 scale plane of about 11 lbs (12S) or a 90 sized plane of about 9 lbs (8S), look for the following:
World Models Extra 330 60
Carl Goldberg Extra (90 sized one)
Carl Goldberg SU26
Extreme Flight Yak 54

Nitro planes has a 69" yak 54 that would be great for Imac. $199, its a knock off of the aeroworks 120 sized yak, but smaller. Mine came out to 10 lbs.
