Default Sky-Shark P-40 maidened

Maidened the P-40 and all went well. Running a AXI 5345/16 on 12 cells, swinging a 22/12 prop at about 6000 RPM, weighed in at 24 pounds. Flew well and enjoyed it alot. The second flight got the camera man running though, sorry about that Russ! Here are a couple clips, now remember it is its maiden flight OK?

Hey Don,

That was a really nice flight, very inspiring to me as I have one of those babies still sitting in the box. Now I have someone to copy and I won't have to re-invent the wheel or re-activate the research and development department.

Based on your landing, it doesn't look like the P-40 is much of a floater, even with the flaps down.

Good Job.

Al

Hey,

Glad to see your maiden on the P-40. My Dad has the same plane, though his is Revolution 50 gasser powered. We just maided his last Friday, and all went well with the flight but a bounced landing tore the left retract out of the mount. It's already repaired and ready for hop #2.

While he was flying the maiden, i was really struck by it's size and looks in the air, it's a pretty cool plane isn't it[sm=thumbup.gif]

What kind of prop are you using on this Sky Shark P-40? I am in the process of build this exact plane and putting an electric motor in it and I can't find any info on what prop to use.
