Need help...prop selection
I have a 560kv motor paired with an 80a esc and powered by a 6 cell 4000mah lipo pack that will go into a katana s40 weighing about 2.5 kilos without any power systems. My battery pack weighs about 640gms, motor about 220gms. However, I'm propping it with a 13x8 apc e prop, which gives good thrust during bench testing. I'm pulling about 30amps at full throttle, and 600 watts (this is with my test battery, a 6 cell 2200mah battery). With the power system installed, it's heavier than when I had an IC 46 engine installed. I'm worried that it's going to be too heavy to fly properly, so i was wondering if I should change to a larger diameter prop to help? Does this make sense? Also, large diameter props like 15 inches for electric flight are not available in my area. Can I use normal nitro props? Need help on this, cause I'm going to maiden this weekend, and don't want to make a fool of myself if it doesn't get off the ground, or barely. Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Hi Tianci, they don't have a 14x7 electric prop size here. Can I use a regular nitro prop (wood or plastic) instead?

Cyborg ... I am sure you can use a nitro prop but I am unsure how good that works on an EP plane. If no 14x7 then why not a 14x8? If not PM me your name and addie ok. I will sort you out.
