G&P Sales, Seabee
I am considering an electric conversion of the G&P SalesSeabee. I am most interested in the twin version. Was wondering if anyone has experience with G&P Sales kits, especially the Seabee.

RE: G&P Sales, Seabee
Henry,
I built the G&P Republic Seabee about 20 years ago. Believe it or not, I still have not painted it or flown it!! My immediate interest in it dwindled when I sold my vacation cottage on a lake here in NC.
I have invites from some guys in Hickory NC to fly on water again! I am therefore reinvigorated with the prospect of finally completing this plane. I visited the G&P web site, and found that they have a clear plastic window set for the Bee. When I bought the kit in the late 80's this was not available. I have contacted them to see if the windows will fit my old fuselage, and will get one if it does.
I HIGHLY recommend this kit. The fiberglass work is as good as I have seen. He uses glass cloth, reinforced only in accordance with the stress expected. The foam wings are nice and sheet up well. Hardware and instructions are pretty good too if I remember correctly. The tip floats are molded glass too, which is a niice touch. You really can't expect much more.
Any questions, let me know.

RE: G&P Sales, Seabee
I see from more recent info that Bill Price at G&P has switched to a fiberglass mat system instead of the cloth layup I have in my fuse. As Bill teaches fiberglass processes at a university, I would not let this deter. I am sure it will be fine.
He does have the window set available at $15 + $10 shipping, and he is sure that it will fit my old fuse. I would think the same mold is used now as was when I got my kit.
