Sig 1/5 piper clipped wing conversion
Hey Folks,
New here, new in the field of electrics.... I have a Sig 1/5 piper kit that I am building and I plan to make it a clipped wing. What am I looking at for a motor that will allow this airframe to perform as it should. It calls for a .60 glow if that helps.
I guess I am wondering if it is a one to one conversion or is there a ratio that I am not aware of.
Andrew

There is no "ratio" othe than "watts per pound" or any standard identificaton on electrics.

If its a 60 class then look at either a 5S or 6S set up. That is something you need to consider for starters, what batteries you want to own. As for ESC, go with an 80A immediately, the Turnigy Plush ones are good enough. Motor will depend on 5S or 6S and also what prop you will be going with. So do you want to spend on 'branded' motors or are you happy to go with some cheap China ones which will work fine for scale flying Cubs? You want a motor like the China 4260 or Hacker A50 or Hyperion 4025 etc. KV will depend on 5S or 6S.
