YS-140 to electric

I want to convert my 80” Taylor Craft over to electric and could use some advice on what I should install. The present flying weight is around 10 ¾ pounds and it hovers good at about ¾ throttle using a YS-140. I want to end up with the same power and was wondering what would be a good electric equivalent. I was considering the a60 -14L Hacker using a 5000 Mah 10s battery and Castle speed controller. Am I in the ball park?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

RE: YS-140 to electric
I have used YS engines quite a bit....if it were me I'd look at the A60-16M, CC ICE80-HV and 10S 5000MAH batteries (2 5S 5000MAH in series)

Larry ... for an easy flying plane a cheaper route is also available. You can look at the following:

Motor - DualSky, Scorpion etc.
ESC - Turnigy 90A HV, DualSky

Used them and they work fine for sport flying for sure. Some are using Rhino packs for competition pattern flying. :) As for props try the XOAR ones, they are sweet. You can look at turning an 18x10 for your plane. Don't try to get the same size and RPM as in glow. Usually we go with more diameter and pitch in EP.

What are the advantages of going with (2) 5 cell packs in series vs (1) 10 cell pack?

RE: YS-140 to electric
In case one cell goes bust? :) Also, 5S is good for a 40 sized sport plane. Tons of power for sport flying and decent 3D on a light 50 sized plane. You can't imagine how much fun something like a WM Super Sports 40 is on 5S and a hot motor turning a 12x10. Its awesome.
