has anyone tried to make an uproar electric, what did you use all help appreciated

Which size do you have?

The Uproar has an open frame firewall that would be a great fit for a direct drive outrunner like an AXI 4120/14 motor from [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/brushless_axi.htm]Hobby Lobby[/link].

Take a look at my Skylark conversion thread on this forum. You could use a similar power setup and perhaps only need 14 cells with a 14x7 or 15x7 APC e-prop.

A geared Kyosho Endoplasma would probably fly it. I have flown a .30-size aileron plane using this setup but the flights are short because the Speed 600 Endo is current hungry.

A big improvement is seen by switching first to a brushless motor, and second, switching to Lithium power.

You can reduce your entry costs into electric flight by selecting an outrunner like the AXI motor and NiCd or NiMH cells. The direct drive motor makes things easier and maintenance-free.

Additionally, you can save more money by using the 40-amp Jeti "Advance" [link=http://www.hobby-lobby.com/jetiblue.htm]JECA40[/link] controller with BEC on 12-cells. This will eliminate the need for an external UBEC device.

A Speed 600 on its maximum of 8 cells is good for powering .15-.20 size aircraft at best, though it's a bit heavy.
10-cell setups like the Endoplasma make nice power systems on most .25-.30 size aircraft, and really light or sedate-flying .40-sizers like Gary Wrights E3D or a glow trainer.
For a .40 size plane, especially aerobatic, you need to be looking at 16-cell setups.

If you take extreme measures to build the Uproar extremely light, you could feasibly fly it on the 10-cell setups. Replace sheet balsa with stick-built structures. Replace plywood with sheet balsa. Use adhesives judiciously.

At that point, though, you'll end up with something that looks eerily like an E3D :)

is their any other brushed setups that would only need 8 cells, im trying to make this as cheep as possible but still have it fly good,I would just go and buy a brushless setup but its just to expensive right now, im only 14 so its kinda a problem getting the money, I also cant make it any lighter, becase its already built about the only thing to make it lighter right now is to put lightning holes in it and use really light covering but i dont know how much good that would do

Nope, sorry. Bare minimum is the 10-cell Endoplasma system.

There are many things to balance when powering a plane with electric. First, you need enough power. Second, you need to keep the weight down. Third, you need to get a decent flight time.

Planes require a certain amount of power to fly depending on how big they are and how you want to fly them. The fewer cells you have, the more Amps you need to draw to get enough power. The more Amps you draw, the shorter the flight time. To get enough power to fly a 5lb aerobatic airplane on 8 cells, you would have to draw so many Amps that your flight would be like 2 minutes. You'd also exceed the Amp capacity of any "cheep" brushed motor on the market; you'd burn 'em up, so you'd need special expensive high-current motors and speed controls.

If you truly want a "cheep" electric airplane, a .40-size conversion is not the way to go. Even the "cheep" 10-cell Endoplasma system is going to run you close to $150, and will only give you BLAH performance on an Uproar. The smaller park flyers are much more affordable. Something like a GWS Formosa, with EVERYTHING, will run you about the same amount, and will perform much better. Big electrics are still for the people with money, I'm afraid :(
