H.o.B. Texan Conversion help
I'm building a House of Balsa AT-6 Texan kit and want to make it electric. Here are the specs:
Rec. Power... .15-.20 Glow AUW 2.5-3lbs. 44" ws 29" L This is going to be a Sunday Sport flier, not really intending to Race Pylon or anything. Any suggestions for Outrunner, ESC and battery? |
RE: H.o.B. Texan Conversion help
I have the same project on the board for this winter anlong with their Mustang. I'm using a Hacker 30-10XL V2 with a 55 Amp ESC and a 3C 3300 Battery on it. My other choice was the 30-12XL for a more aerobatic performance. I can't give you any performance opinions until it's done. I had this combo on my modified Ace 4-20 Electric and it flew as good as the .25 Glow did.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check out the Hacker stuff. A buddy of mine sent me a link to some Excede R/C stuff. My only problem is the price. $22.00 for a .25 size outrunner? Seems too good to be true.
Nice job on your Texan! A quick question about it. Is your engine mounted upright? My plans show it at about a 45deg angle. |
RE: H.o.B. Texan Conversion help
It ended up about 20 degrees for the muffler on that engine to clear correctly.

Here's a pic of mine also from the early 90's. I look forward to seeing how yours turns out. I would like to convert mine as well.
