Default Magnum .52 xls

I just got a new magnum .52 xls it came with no glo plug. The manual says to use a hot glo plug. My question is what brand and size plug do I get?

Fox standard Long Glow Plug works just fine. A Fox Miracle plug if you want to be fancier. If you only have a Fox Long RC idle bar plug, it'll work just fine too. Normally for the Schneurle ported engines, you do not need a idle bar glow plug, but the plugs will work Ok anyway. The slight RPM drop would only matter to a pylon racer.

I also like, in addition to Fox glow plugs, McCoy plugs (Tower plugs). You can save some money and still have long glow plug life and great performance.

I use the Fox R/C Long (medium/hot with idle bar) as the default plug for most of my two strokes. I use the Fox Miracle plug as the default plug for my four strokes.

Warrenv: I have been using Fox Long with and without the idle bar for a very long time. Only had to switch to the Hot Miracle plug when the Oregon weather became cold. A very long time ago, I was able to get the McCoy plugs under their mfg name, and am not familar with who makes the tower plugs. Add an extra ounce of castor oil to you fuel, and your engine will be well cared for.

I have a Magnum XLS .52 2 stroke and tried several glow plugs with no success until I tried the OS #6 (formerly A3) and now it performs flawlessly.

Hope this helps.
