Default Thinder Tiger GP10 Piston position?

Juat bought a new piston and liner for my old GP10 but I think i have foregotten which way the piston goes in. The piston has an extra hole on its side aside from the two gudjeon holes. From memory (foggy thse days) the extra hole pases across the exhaust port to reduce crank case pressure. Is this correct ?

HI!
NO!
The hole is for letting gases from the crank pass through the piston , through the corresponding hole in the cylinder liner...then up trough the gas passage up into the combustion chamber.
Check the hole in the cylinder liner.....and you will see which way to put the piston.

Regards!
