my brother has a k&b 45.... what size of bolt is used on the muffler? thanks

Just take the engine into your local ACE (Tru Value) hardware store. The screws are typically a 6-32 thread size, but I can't say what the length is though.
There is a ACE store is Weslaco near you.

thanks guys i found out they are 5-40 thats the craziest size ive heard of,,,,WTH couldn't they have used a more conventional size like a 6-32 their 60 size motors did use 6-32 btw

K&B has been using 5-40 threads for years. Cox used it too for the prop screw on their 049's. Several other companies use 5-40 thread.

Not something you will find at Home Depot, but 5-40 is common at machine and auto supply stores. Or at least they were, ,maybe not so much now that more and more things are going metric.
