Enya 60 lll (7033) vs ST G-51
I have both engines and was wondering what you guys thought the differences would be between the two. I used to have the G51 mounted in my GP corsair 40, now it's in my RV4. I want to mount the 60 in the corsairwhen I fix it. The plane was built on the heavy side so I was thinking I could run a bigger prop with the 60 for more pull. Not saying the G51 didn't do the job,but it's got a new home. Will I gain any by mounting the Enya? I know it weighs more but I had to add weight at the nose with the G51.
Pros cons?
Thanks

RE: Enya 60 lll (7033) vs ST G-51
Hi! I would say that the ENYA III is worth a try... And, by the way, the G-51 weighs 365+150=515 grams (with its muffler) while the ENYA III weighs 432+95=527 grams (with its muffler), so the difference is 12 grams, less than 1/2 ounce, quite minimal...
This is my personal experience: G-51 turned a Zinger Wood at 10.500rpm, while now I'm turning a M.A. black, wide blade, white tips at 11,500rpm on my ENYA III (I have a G-8 carb, thou...). Considering the shape of the model, I suggest to give the ENYA a try!
Ciao

OT, but Metallica One has to be the best track...

I would think the Enya would be a bit stronger having the slight edge in displacement, but I have no idea how either is timed.

That is a great track, but I think their best music is from Master of Puppets, and And Justice for All. I think One is on Justice, now that I think about it. Ride the Lightning is great, and the Black album is good. Anything after the Black album is pretty sissy up to their most recent album which rocks it out a bit.

Since they are both close weight wise ... give the enya a try if it runs reliably.... ive only had one enya and it was a used old school 45 cx(?) no matter how i tuned it, it would quit when held vertically.... it has been the only glow engine i couldnt tune

Thanks guys i'll give the Enya a shot.
Anything after Justice is blah to me,Just not the same. Justice is a great album but I think there's better songs than One on it. Blackened,Shortest Straw etc... What a great album! But Master is awesome! Shame Cliff died on that tour! I like Kill Em All also but when Ride The Lightning came out... WOW! I love that album!

My G51 weighs between 15.5 and 16 ounces, depending on which muffler you have (the one with the tapered outlet is lighter). The Enya weighs 18 ounces with original muffler. Also there are two types of the model 7033, the first is the 60-III which uses twin rings and an exhaust baffle then there's the 60-IIIB which has a single ring and no baffle and a few other internal changes. Unscrewing the exhaust outlet from the Enya muffler will give a fair increase in power but also quite a bit louder.

Mine is the B model with a single ring and a strap on pitt style exhaust. Thereis alsoa hole oneach side ofthe exhaust flange. Is one more powerful than the other?

Yours is one of the rare transition models where Enya were using up the last of the 60-III crankcases but all internals are IIIB. The IIIB is a little more powerful than the III.
